OUr loan was sold to these scumbags. Our credit is excellent and we own another home with a local bank. Our local bank does not sell their loans. That is another key to peace of mind. Go local when applying for a mortgage and make sure they do not sell their loans.
As for the person who said they never had a problem, they are most likely employed by the scumbags and are not telling the truth.
It looks like we got away just in time as they sent a letter saying they did not like our insurance coverage. Luckily I knew what they were up too and got rid of them.

| 1. Written by Dana, on 27-12-2008 09:12 I would LOVE to get away from this HORRIBLE, PREDATORY AND GROSSLY UNCARING "excuse" for a mortgage company. When my company (New Century) went bankrupt, my loan was acquired by this company and, although I was sending my payments to the only address(es) I had (the one I had always sent to New Century with and, once I found out New Century was in trouble and finally received an "introductory" letter from this "entity"), 3 payments were LOST - on their end - and they began proceedings against me. Once I finally got a "live" person on the phone (after sitting on hold for over 45 minutes!!!), I was told if I would send $3,000 and sign some "agreement" my loan would be reinstated BUT I would have to pay almost $300 DOLLARS MORE PER MONTH FOR QUITE A FEW MONTHS TO MAKE UP THE "FEES" AND "INTEREST" AND OTHER JUNK THEY HAD PUT ON MY LOAN!!! I told this rude person I was talking to that I would not be able to pay that much a month and that I would truly end up in foreclosure at that point and was told, "just send the money and sign the agreement and something will be worked out." So . . . I did. And . . . the "something" they worked out was to file "official" foreclosure proceedings in my County Court! I won't bore you with reading the numerous advocacy agencies and governmental entities and offices - not to mention attorneys and real estate personnel I have worked with over an almost 2 year period and WILL STILL LOSE MY HOME TO THESE SHARKS!!! BEWARE!!! Do NOT believe ANYTHING ANYONE from this excuse for a company tells you and PLEASE . . . SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT THEIR UNETHICAL AND BORDERLINE ILLEGAL BUSINESS PRACTICES TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE THAT WILL LISTEN!! I am well-able to afford my home - a home I have lived in . . . without any incident at all until these jerks came into the picture . . . for 5 years now!! I am 55 years old . . . with nowhere to go . . . and, most likely within a couple of weeks to a month . . . will become HOMELESS . . . . . . . . all because this company that represents itself as such a wonderful, customer-oriented, "work-with-the-government-at-any-cost-to-help-homeowners" mortgage company WON'T WORK WITH ME - A PERSON WHO CAN AFFORD THEIR HOME AND JUST WANTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW THEM!!! |

| 3. Written by Heather, on 19-06-2008 11:31 I am also having problems with HomEq. In January of this year, they told me that I had an escrow deficit as they had improperly estimated my taxes and insurance. (Incidentally, I have owned several homes over the years and never had a mortgage company hit me with an alleged deficit.) Anyhow, I paid the $1400 deficit so that my payment would not go up. However, they have so far misapplied the money 4 times and my May statement had a prorated portion of the deficit, WHICH I ALREADY PAID, added to the payment amount. I sent a letter to their legal department on 05/20/08 and now it is 06/19/08 and no one has called or written in response. I am livid. |
